Memories linger, but unfortunately video tapes fade away...
Some formal studies put the quality lifetime of a video tape at only 15 years! After that, you will notice the effects of age, humidity and chance as they slowly degrade your video tape. Here at Famous Davis, we've got the tools, talent and time to turn your precious memories into 21st century technology.
We can convert the following tape formats to high quality DVDs:
- VHS
- S-VHS
- VHS-C
- Video8 (8mm video tape)
- Hi8
- Digital8
- MiniDV
We can also repair and transfer broken video tapes. In addition, we can transfer video from your camcorder with a built-in hard drive, or transfer video from Mini-DVDs to full-size DVDs.

David H. Davies of Ampex Recording Systems Corporation (the inventors of video tape) suggests examining and playing your priceless video tapes every two to five years. "If you see degradation, take them to a duplication center and get them copied," he said.
